A=s^2 (side squared)
The area of a square is calculated by squaring the side length, because the two sides (length and width) are the same. For a rectangle, it would be L x W, but for a square, L=W.
For example: If the side of the square is 5 cm, the area is (5 cm)x(5 cm) = 25 cm^2
