Francisco Pizarro conquered the Incan Empire through a combination of military strategy, deception, and exploiting internal divisions within the empire. In 1532, he captured the Inca leader Atahualpa during a surprise attack, using superior weaponry and tactics. Pizarro leveraged the existing rivalries between different factions within the Incan society and, after holding Atahualpa for ransom, ultimately executed him, leading to the collapse of Incan resistance. The conquest was further facilitated by the introduction of European diseases, which weakened the Incan population.
