A special reserve police forms part of the supplemental police and was established under the Special Reserve Police Act, Chap. 15:03. Functions include assisting the members of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service in cases of external aggression or special disturbances, or whenever additional police may be required for the preservation of good order, the protection of persons or property, or the performance of any duty exercisable by members of the police service.
