What is the recovery time after having shoulder replacement surgery?

If one has shoulder replacement surgery the physical therapy usually starts the day after surgery. It is stated that after approximately four weeks one can use the arm for light activity and active use of the arm and shoulder can usually begin about eight weeks after surgery.
