What is a wired-haired terrier?

There are different variations of the wired-haired terrier, I posted a link for a wire haired Fox Terrier. The "wire-hair" comes from their hair spiraling or looking like wires coming from their skin. It is neither smooth nor long. gets only about 1-2 inches in length and can look like little curls or spirals.
