It can, but only under certain circumstances and even then there is no guarantee. It cannot be a very serious offense-so if you have a number of DUIs it is probably not possible. Also, if someone was seriously injured or hurt in conjunction with your DUI, it is unlikely. But there is a process that you can go through to attempt to get a DUI expunged.

If you were found guilty, in my experience, the CRIMINAL portion of the charge MAY be expunged from your criminal record (depending upn the laws of your state) HOWEVER - the DMV record of the charge will always exist because it is a necessary and permanent part of your entire driving history and the basis on which the penalty for any subsequent DUI violation would be predicated.
