What is difference between double-double room and family room?

double room refers to the rooms accomodating 2 persons with one bed. If there are two beds, it should be called twin room.But nowadays, a double room can be one bed and 2 bed.

a double double room refers to two beds, each one is big enough to accomodate 2 persons.
