Caterpillars do not jump in the way that some other insects might; they primarily move by crawling. They can, however, exhibit quick movements to escape predators, but these are not considered jumps. As such, there isn’t a specific number of jumps that can be attributed to a caterpillar throughout its life. Instead, their movement is characterized by crawling and sometimes a rapid wriggling motion.
