Is there such thing as a yellow leech?

when i was little.. my brother had a yellow leech on him . it was kinda big and was stuck on real good. my brother did not know it was there . when he came out of the water in a lake in Ontario Canada my mother saw the leech on his side and part of his back. she removed it with salt i think
