What is the niche of a steller's jay?

Steller Jays live in dense coniferous (trees with cones) forests of North America. They are found most commonly at low to moderate elevations. Stellar Jays are omnivores and will eat a variety of seeds and fruits. They are also good scavengers and are typically seen (and heard) where campers scraps might be or in residential neighborhoods stealing pet food. These bold Jays are good at exploiting the resources available to them.
