Is there a difference between a borzoi aka Russian wolf hound and a borzoi?

An Irish wolfhound is from Ireland and a Russian Wolfhound is from Russia!

and also a Irish wolf hound would kill the wolfs of old and some of present and the Russian usually held them at bay
