What is the proper way to write a thank you card?

There are many ways to write a thank you depending on the type... An example of a wedding thank you:

"Dear Aunt April,

Thank you for coming and joining us on our wedding day! It was so special having you there. Also, thank you so much for the vase you gave us! It looks so wonderful in our new apartment. It was wonderful to see you there and we hope to see you again soon!
