Well if you a science student using Glencoe books (blue and green) the preferable answer to that would be Organelles. There are, however, several different answers to this question. There are protons, neutrons, and electrons that are smaller than cells. Also parts of a cell, cell wall, membrane, nuclues, are smaller than the cell in whole.
