Anne of Cleves, the fourth wife of King Henry VIII, was married to him in January 1540 but their marriage was annulled just six months later due to Henry's lack of attraction to her. Following the annulment, she received a generous settlement, including properties and a yearly income. Anne remained in England and maintained a friendly relationship with the royal family, even attending court events. She lived comfortably until her death in 1557.
