Yes, he did. It began in 1941 with Operation Barbarossa. His tactics were called blitzkrieg (lightning war). This is wher you throw everything you have at the target to massivley overwhelm it. However it didn't work. Hitlers invasion of Russia also invaded the Nazi-Soviet Non- Agression Pact, protecting Germany from the Soviet Union. Hitler didn't want a repeat of WW1. But he eventually violated it with the Operation mentioned.
