For sure; for example the Church of England holds large stakes in British banks, supermarket stores etc. The Church, therefore, plays a large role in economics and business. Another way in which it can affect the economy is through charity - helping those most vulnerable in society by giving food and shelter etc.: this means that there is an improvement in the wealth distribution in that country too. This in turn would give more people the drive to work and improve their lives, which of course would directly result in economic input.
