President Barack Obama attended the funeral and delivered the eulogy. Also attending were President George W. Bush, President William J. Clinton and President James E. Carter.

President George H.W. Bush sent his condolences but decided not to attend because he felt the attendance of his son President George W. Bush and his wife Laura well represented the Bush family.
