What is the symbolism of bees?

Man and bees go a long way back. There is some thought that Neanderthal was the first beekeeper. Ancient Egyptians used bees as a symbol of regal power. It is used to represent well-governed industry. Napoleon used the bee as a personal device. Bees and their hives are one of the most common insect representations in heraldry as a symbol of community and working together. Pagans associate the bee with the goddess Gaia. And i don't know anyone who has not heard the expression "Busy as a bee"
