Why would some people be reluctant to make eye contact?

If you are Lying and the person you are talking to is smart enough to find out whether you lie or not

Sometimes if somebody is sincere to you and you have something to tell without upsetting him or make him angry , This person is aware about your actions

This person if he looked at your eyes he will know whether you lie or you are honest

So the best way is to do your best to avoid eye contact

Some find it hard/distracting to look at someone while thinking of what to say; an example being if your usual medium of communication is a through a computer, you would be used to looking at a basic, inanimate object when communicating. they could like each other, also. see when i have a crush on a boy i look at him til he notices then i turn my head but still look outta the corner of my eyes and i always see them look for along time til i notice.
