they not only deliver babies but they are also the doctors to check on women who are pregnant. they give the woman her checkups and ultrasounds and fetal testing, so as you can see there is a lot more to obstetrics than just delivering babies, half the time they don't even deliver the babies themselves, a midwife or nurse that is certified will do it.
