There were about 1,280 tornadoes in the U.S. in 2010 and many more elsewhere in too many locations to count. Here are the most notable tornadoes of 2010:

  • On April 24 an enormous EF4 tornado tore a 149-mile-long path across the state of Mississippi, killing 10 people. The worst damage was in the town if Yazoo City.
  • On May 6 a series of floods, hailstorms, and landslides stuck China. A tornado in Chongqiun may have killed as many as 29 people, but deaths from different causes were not distinguished.
  • On May 10 a pair of EF4 tornadoes caused major damage in the areas of Oklahoma City and Norman, Oklahoma.
  • On June 5, an EF4 tornado struck Millbury, Ohio, Killing 7 people.
  • On October 21, a tornado struck Pozo del Tigre, Argentina, killing six people.
