Are Democrats basically supporters of the people and their rights and do Republicans only care about money and business and could care less about the people?

Yes.
Just kidding, in reality, the two parties are much more complicated. It is true Republicans are bigger supporters of business than Democrats, and Democrats more often support the impoverished, the minorities, etc. However, a successful business means that at least someone is benefiting, and Republicans feel that by supporting business, they are helping the poor, minorities, etc. more than if they gave them welfare. The idea is that they are helping the poor help themselves. Of course, it doesn't always work out that way, and in fact business can profit at the expense of the poor, but it is unwise to make rash generalizations about either party.
