What type of oil used in 1965 mustang?

I always use RedLine synthetic in all of my classic cars.

Synthetic or not depends on opinion. However, makes sure either has zinc (ZDDP) in it as most modern oil no longer does. You can add ZDDP back as an additive otherwise you'll have cam problems in the future.
