In the movie "Stand and Deliver," the math class at Garfield High School in East Los Angeles, nicknamed "Magnolias," was struggling due to a lack of resources, support, and motivation. The students faced numerous challenges such as poverty, gang violence, and low expectations, which impacted their academic performance.
