What is the best way to store a pineapple?

If you buy a pineApple you wait until the green is pretty much completely gone. This will mean that it is ripe.

Then you cut the top part off and then the bottom, next you take the skin off of the sides then cut through it avoiding the middle, then you throw the skin, top and bottom, and the center away.

put in a plastic container with the top on and store in the fridge.

if you buy it in the can you can just put it in your pantry.
