How many years does a public school teacher need to go to college?

It depends on what subject you are taking in university. If you are taking History it lasts for three years but it depends on what you want the degree in. A PCGE is a year if you take it full time or two years if you take it part time. A PCGE is a post graduate certificate in education. But only take it if you already have a degree. I also recommend taking a Bachelor of education degree (BEd) which is where you study to become a teacher while taking a degree in university.
