Is KAVA illegal

The answer is NO. At least not in the US. Kava is a very safe product to use and has many medicinal uses. It can be abused, like anything else, but even when overused, the major ill side affect one will encounter is a bad case of dry skin. Many people are under the assumption that kava is harmful for your liver. When prepared properly, this is completely not true. The ONLY portion of the kava plant to be consumed is the ROOT. However, many companies that manufacture kava in pill form, grind the entire plant. The leaves and stems contain toxins that are harmful on the liver. The most safe and EFFECTIVE way to consume kava, is to get fresh ground root, or powder and strain it into water.
