Why does the computer keyboard go like qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm?

The reason behind the qwerty keyboard is mechanical. When the first typewriters were produced, the arms of the letters would bind up if you typed too fast, and the best arrangement that the inventor found was the current one.
