Is GPA score discrete or continuous?

A GPA score is considered a discrete variable because it is represented by specific values typically on a defined scale (e.g., 0.0 to 4.0) and does not take on every possible value within that range. While GPA can be calculated to a certain number of decimal places, it is still limited to certain increments based on the grading system used. Thus, it cannot assume every value in a continuous spectrum.
