Two countries - China and the Russian Federation - has the most countries bordering them. Each has a total of 14 countries that share their borders.

China is bordered by North Korea, Russian Federation, Mongolia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar (Burma), Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

The Russian Federation is bordered by North Korea, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland (via Kaningrad Oblast), Lithuania (via Kaningrad Oblast), Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Norway.
