The BGP routing tables are getting huge. Some of the larger internet routers have to handle information about approximately 300,000 different networks. This problem should be partially solved, once IPv6 becomes common.
The rising bandwidth requirements may easily go beyond the capability of the Internet.
Then, there are issues involving criminal or unethical uses for the Internet, such as phishing, Internet scams, and spam mail.
