Dean and many others on this board are just wrong. NY STATE LAW FORBIDS ANYONE WITH A FELONY FROM BECOMING A real estate BROKER. Look up the law. It is written in black and white. Is it possible to get a waiver? YES. But is it likely? No. And the answer is no because the law actually forbids felons from obtaining this type of license. And as for the response "just hire a good attorney": 99% of people with felony convictions do not have the money to hire a good attorney. If they had that kind of money, they would not be trying to get these licenses. To some up: Possible, yes. (ANYTHING is possible). Likely, no. And by that I mean there is a 99% chance you won't get your license. Why should state state trust you? You already committed a felony.
