I suppose you really don't need a license if you want to do it your self in an underground business, which is not legal. But if you want to work in a salon or run your own salon, then you should have a license so people know you have put in the work it takes to make their hair look it's best; Also, because there are so many different types of chemicals and treatments that can damage hair if not applied properly. Having had formal education in these areas will give your clientele peace of mind when you are handling their crown and glory, not to mention knowing all about the different types and textures of hair, the direction of growth and methods of styling such as hair extensions is more than beneficial to you and your customer.
