How do you remove black scuff marks from concrete floors?

Concrete is a somewhat porous surface so it may be impossible to remove a stain. Grease and gasoline stains on a garage floor can be cleaned up with kitty litter. Bleach can remove some staining to a degree. A mildew cleaner made for concrete is also available for removing stains.
