When is the best time to surf Westport Washington?

I've been Surfing Westport WA for only 2 years so someone else may have a different opinion. The best waves I've experienced were in late Fall, Winter, and early Spring. The waves can get 2x overhead easy but is often windswept, choppy, and unrideable. Most people at this time ride inside the harbor where the shorter period swells are filtered out and the surf is cleaner. Days of large, clean surf outside the harbor do exist, however, and locals get it best. Water is cold in Winter (about 48 degrees) but air temps can get even lower. Summer surfing is warmer and more comfortable but the waves average waist high with only occasional bigger swells.
