There are a great deal of decision making styles in the godfather the main one is leadership. Michael and his father are both leaders who are set in their ways and everyone does not question them. In one of the scenes in the first film "I'll make him an offer he can't refuse". That sets the tone for the movie and the lengths they are willing to go to get what they want.
