You can do a wide range of things and apply a wildlife management degree to many different fields, but here are just a few ideas:

  • conservation officer/law enforcement (usually run within your state's dept. of Natural Resources or similar)
  • pest control (usually predators preying on livestock and deer (or other mammals) feeding on crops)
  • research - research the behavior, habitat, usefulness to humanity, what-have-you, of a target species or ecosystem
  • exotic species - exotic species are becoming a HUGE problem all around the world-new species are introduced to habitats not natural to them, flourish, and kill off the species that are natural to the area. Some to look up are: the brown tree snake, zebra mussel, Chinese chestnut
  • wildlife biologist - must be certified by the Wildlife Society (http://joomla.wildlife.org/)
  • conservation ecology
  • restoration ecology

There are tons of choices in the wildlife management field and there will always be need for educated people for the sustained use of our natural resources! What job you choose depends on where your values and goals are when it comes to wildlife management! Hope this helps!
