Why did Bruno Hauptmann kill Charles Jr?

The Lindbergh case has many unanswered questions even after almost a century later. Many believe that Hauptmann was innocent of the crime completely and was convicted on false evidence. Since Hauptmann went to the death chamber proclaiming his innocence he most certainly did not say how or why the Lindbergh infant was killed, if he ever really knew.

There has been new interest in the case and we may soon have new evidence relying on the ransom notes and handwriting technology using computers instead of the human eye. This may prove that Hauptmann was not guilty and went to the electric chair an innocent man.
