What is the difference between a Scientist and any other professional?

A professional is a person who has recognised qualifications or skills in some particular field/subject and practices these skills to make a living. For instance a musician, engineer or a dancer can be a professional, as can a scientist.

In the case of a scientist, the skills or qualifications are obtained in a scientific subject where part of the skill set is learning how to apply the scientific method to what they do or study.
