When did the first digital camera come out?

In 18th century

two-tone imaging and the basic optic principles of the camera were documented by Chinese and Greek philosophers between the 5th and 4th centuries. grayscale images happened through a series of events which began in 1727 when J. Schulze made a compound of chalk, nitric acid, and silver and noticed it's photo-sensitive properties.

Nicéphore Niépce invented the process around 1826.
