What is workplace safety?

A workplace is a place where people perform work, usually for payment or some other from of recompense. This could include situations as widely divergent as a small room in which a couple of people operate as a telemarketing team, an aircraft manufacturer, a government office, a veterinary surgery, a newsagent, a farmer, a hairdressing salon, and so on.

Workplace safety is the observance of safe practices in a workplace, providing or ensuring, as far as reasonably practical, a safe environment in the workplace with the goal of returning each worker to his or her home in the same condition of health and physical fitness as he or she arrived at the beginning of the workday.

Responsibility for workplace safety lies with many people and entities, from, for example, the employed individuals, through their managers and supervisors to the corporation ultimately employing them. Different locations have different regulatory boards that supports these workplace safety. They impose fines for violations of their rules and guidelines.
