Wendy's does not freeze there Hamburgers. They do in fact order just what they need per day from the supplier. It is a common misconception to believe that Wendys freezes the hamburger.
The commercials are in fact accurate in the claim that the beef is never frozen.
More info:
There's refrigeration inside the truck that is ships the burgers. After that there's a refrigeration room that keeps food cold for about 20-30 degrees F. The temperature of the danger zone for the food to be infected is 40-90 degrees F.
This is a smart idea because they can still cook their food fast and get it past the danger zone real quick. This keeps the burgers fresh since the colder the object the more time it takes for it to cook and this means it does that UNTIL it gets past the danger zone. That's why there have been complaints about McDonald's burgers being so nasty. McDonalds keeps their burgers at -20 degrees F.
So when Wendy's cook their burgers NOT FROZEN, that means that the burger is as fresh as it is because it passes the danger zone as quick as it can. This has been proven scientifically that unfrozen cold objects get hotter faster than frozen objects.
