What are considered to be good manners when you are meeting someone for the first time?

Smile, be polite, keep negative comments to yourself, don't come of as a negative person, shake their hand, always look at them straight in the eye, introduce yourself in a proper manner. If male, be courteous and practice chivalry. If female, act lady-like (no burping, you don't want the person to know you're a pig).
