How did siegfried and brunhild meet?

Siegfried and Brunhild met when Siegfried helped King Gunther win Brunhild's hand in marriage by defeating her in various challenges, using his invisibility cloak and strength to assist Gunther. As a result, Brunhild agreed to marry Gunther, but later discovered the truth about Siegfried's role in the challenges which led to conflict and betrayal.
