Best location for a wireless router?

The best location is somewhere centrally located so that all areas of the house are covered. Obviously not always possible so take this into consideration the less walls the router has to travel through including floors the better the signal. Also electronics will mess the signal ex. tvs, microwaves, stereos etc.
