Hot Tub Controls have two primary functions. The first function is to provide a means for you to manually control all of the Hot Tub equipment and features, such as Pumps, Air Blowers, Lights, etc. The topside Control Panel is where you turn the equipment on and off, and adjust or set how that equipment will operate. If you have a SmartControl, you can also control Entertainment, view Slideshows, set Wellness Timers, and play Games. The second function is to automatically control the equipment for proper Filtering, Heating, Freeze Protection, and Safety. The topside Control Panel is where you adjust or set these automatic functions, such as Water Temperature, Filter Time, and Heating Mode. If you have a SmartControl, all of these functions will be controlled as efficiently as possible to save you money.

A Hot Tub Control consists of two primary parts, a Control Panel up on the top, and a Controller inside the cabinet of the Hot Tub. The Controller usually consists of two primary parts, a Relay Control Board and a Water Heater. All of the equipment is connected to the Control Board, including the Heater. When you press a button on the Control Panel to turn something on or off, the message is sent down to the Control Board, and a Relay, or remote switch, is closed or opened to control the equipment. A SmartControl is much more intelligent and does a whole lot more as far as controlling a Hot Tub and other things in your back yard, displaying Video on the screen, reading your Emails, and Surfing the internet. There's some pretty cool Demos and Videos of these controls at www.newportcontrols.com.
