Laser Dental surgery simply refers to any dental surgery that employs a laser in place of a scalpel. The laser is generally more accurate, minimizes bleeding, and sterilizes the sites it is used on, reducing the risk of post-op infections. When these issues are important, a laser is the preferred instrument, but it is not yet the standard of care for most procedures.
