Why is George Orwell famous?

Communism, Socialism, Fascism, Capitalism etc... are all the same at the core, they use idealism to manipulate the population into supporting their Oligarchic goals. Just read Animal Farm, they were hopeful about a new idealistic form of "government" called "Animalism." However at the end the farm becomes a totalitarian oligarchy. This same theme is expressed in 1984 with the quote from O'brien, "Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a Dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power."
