Why are model helpful in the description of nature?

Nature is complicated. There innumerable input and outputs into any system whether it is the weather or the health environment of a lake. It is impossible to account for them all but those who study such things try to account for as many factors as possible and then propose a simple way, a model, of understanding and predict what is happening and going to happen any of these systems.
