Will your 1990 560 sel keep running if you unhook the posotive terminal to do an alternator test?

Please don't EVER EVER do this! Without a load on the alternator, if it is indeed in operation it will "full field"...essentially run wide open...destroying itself and most of your on-board electronics with it.
